NYC

During my third year of university, I was one of only two students selected from Glasgow Caledonian University to study at Brooklyn College in New York—and the only student chosen from my course. Being selected for such a competitive exchange program was a true privilege and a defining moment in my academic journey and a turning point in both my personal and professional growth.

Being in New York, offered me invaluable opportunities to immerse myself in one of the world's most dynamic fashion capitals. , from Brooklyn’s markets to industry events, gaining firsthand insights into trend forecasting and consumer behaviour. This experience not only broadened my perspective but also strengthened my adaptability, creativity, and passion for the fashion industry, shaping my goals as a visual merchandiser and aspiring buyer.

During my semester at Brooklyn College, I excelled in a diverse academic environment that enhanced my understanding of fashion and branding on a global scale. The coursework emphasised creativity, critical thinking, and practical applications, such as analysing campaigns and developing marketing strategies.

New York’s vibrant fashion scene broadened my perspective and deepened my appreciation for the industry. Living and studying in a city known for its relentless creativity and innovation allowed me to experience fashion beyond the classroom. From street style in Williamsburg to luxury boutiques in SoHo, I was constantly inspired by the city’s diversity and its ability to marry global trends with individual expression.
